Open Austria Privacy Statement
The protection of your privacy, including your personal data, is of the greatest importance to us at Open Austria. We therefore fully comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Union.
2. Purpose of the processing operation
Open Austria uses your contact data solely for the purpose of administration and as a service provider. Your subscription data is used to keep you informed about news and events connecting Austria and Silicon Valley in business, government, research, science, and the arts. To prevent fraudulent use, Open Austria reserves the right to deny network registration or to remove faux profiles. All data management practices prior to the implementation of the GDPR have been valid and in accordance with the law.
3. Data Processing
The data processed for the purposes elaborated in point 2 are the following:
Personal data provided by our Open Austria community on a voluntary basis via the “Join” tab on the Open Austria website;
Personal data such as contact details (e.g.: name, title, email, phone number, cell phone number etc.) provided in email correspondence or business cards;
Photo Galleries of Open Austria events;
Videos of Open Austria events;
Information collected from users of this site will be stored on servers in the US, and will be used only to the extent necessary for the purposes indicated and described to you.

5. Recipients of the Data
Open Austria addresses a wide variety of audiences, and stakeholders, however, no personal data is provided neither to private persons or institutions, nor to governmental institutions, without your explicit consent. Open Austria will disclose private data to governmental institutions only when required by law.
6. Provision, Access, and Rectification of the Data
You have the right to access your personal data and the right to correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data, as well as to request the removal of your personal data, which will be implemented within one month after your request will have been deemed legitimate. Where requests are complex or numerous, Open Austria will extend this deadline to three months.

7. Legal Basis for the Processing Operation
The legal basis of the processing operation at stake is General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 of the European Union.
8. Time Limit for Storing Data
Your personal data are preserved as long as needed to serve the purpose for which they have been gathered (see the list of use cases in “2. Purpose of the processing Operation”), until such time as the data subject indicates she/he wants her data to be removed. In addition, should the purpose change for which the Open Austria has collected data, re-authorization forms will be sent to all individuals affected.
